Welcome to my personal 'web space'. The main purpose of this site is to host the CALL@Hull site, but when I get around to it I'll create a decent personal website with details of myself, plus some goodies for downloading.

The other main components of this site are my intermittently-updated weblogs (or blog, if you must, although I'd rather you didn't):

• The House-movers Tale. The aggro of buying and selling a house - Property Porn it's not.
• Harry's Happy Hamster Home. Misc stuff: ships and sails and sealing wax, cabbages and kings...
• This England. Musings and rants on life in England in the noughties. Not recommended for 'patriots' or Right-thinking people...
• Walkies Weblog. Empty at the moment, but when I next go walkies in decent countryside I'll try to write details of walks here.
• Gaelic weblog. Chronicling my experiences as a learner of Scots Gaelic, including various language tidbits and curiosities that might be of interest to other learners, or just to anyone interested in languages.
